Learn How To Become a Filmmaker at NYFA

NYFA’s Film School offers conservatory-style 1 & 2-Year Filmmaking programs where aspiring filmmakers create their own films. Studying under the guidance of our faculty of professional filmmakers, students receive practical training while collaborating in our diverse, welcoming student community. Throughout these hands-on, immersive programs, students make their own films and video content, studying in fast-paced, creative environments both on-location and in the studio.

Our learn-by-doing process allows students to build essential film production, collaboration, time management, presentation, and problem-solving skills, helping them gain lasting confidence in their abilities as visual storytellers. Upon graduation, students will earn a college credit-bearing Certificate.

Qualified 1 & 2 year filmmaking program graduates can continue their filmmaking education and apply the credits earned to a degree program at NYFA or use their experience to pursue their creative endeavors.
