Jameelah Rose Lineses is a multitalented filmmaker with credits across short films and music video credits. Her credits include Our Journey to Hijaz (2016), Reunion (2018), Historic Jeddah (2015), Will You Marry Me? (2013), and Karma the Movie (2020).
Lineses founded the Khatak Film Society, a pioneering organization based in New York City dedicated to showcasing the works of new wave Tibetan filmmakers, as well as other regions of the Himalayas, to a global audience. Jameelah co-programs the Khatak Film Society Season programming at the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM), at which she served twice on the jury.
She is the winner for ‘Best Cinematography Award’ in 2018 at the 8th Annual IFFM for her music video, Atareek, and received the “Ani Ng Dangal” (Harvest of Honors) for Cinema in 2014, a Presidential Award (Philippines) from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts for Cinema. She received the 2017 IFFM’s Film Festival Director Louie Award Honorable Mention for her documentary, The Lifestyles of Expats in Jeddah.
In a 2018 article by Arab News, Jameelah was mentioned as a pioneering female filmmaker from Saudi Arabia, whose documentary Historic Jeddah was the film at the International Film Festival Manhattan in 2015 to represent her hometown Jeddah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Lineses is supported by the Director’s Guild of America (DGA), Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers (AMPTP) as a foreign film director in the United States, and member of the New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT).
Jameelah Rose Lineses is an alum from NYFA’s 8-week Filmmaking and 1-Year Filmmaking Conservatory programs.
