Jason Liles is an actor whose professional repertoire speaks for itself. Born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in nearby Germantown, Liles and his older brother Jordan regularly created short films during their youth. However, it was not until 2008 that he considered film as a career. Liles enrolled at New York Film Academy and moved to New York City to study film acting. He graduated from our 1-Year Acting for Film certificate program in 2009.
After graduation from NYFA, Liles made his professional acting debut in a 2011 episode of the TV series Lights Out. The following year, he appeared in the short films The Process and Comrades. Liles also made his feature film debut in 2012, appearing in Men in Black 3 starring Will Smith.
Following his role in Men in Black 3, Liles continued appearing in short films, including Save the Cat (2012), I, Helios (2013), A Late Man (2014), and Moondog Airwaves (2015). His next feature film appearance came in The Conjuring 2 (2016), directed by James Wan and starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, and Madison Wolfe.
In 2017, Liles played Ryuk in the film Death Note. The following year, he appeared as George in Rampage, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Meanwhile, Liles received a nomination for Best Visual Effects or Animated Performance at the 2018 Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Awards for his work on Rampage.
Furthermore, Liles performed the motion-capture for King Ghidorah in the 2019 film Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He subsequently won his first career award at that year’s Indiana Film Journalists Assocation Awards.
Following his work on Rampage and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Liles appeared in all ten episodes of the Facebook Watch original series Stereoscope (2020).
More recently, he played Otto in the film Aftermath (2021) and The Chatterer in Hellraiser (2022).
Notably, Liles will appear in the upcoming horror film Stereoscope, as well as Ivy Yu’s upcoming drama To Never Be. However, neither film’s release dates have been announced. In conclusion, Jason Liles is an award-winning actor with a repertoire to match.
