Facilities at NYFA South Beach
The NYFA South Beach campus is located on the historic Lincoln Road, within proximity of many entertainment, dining, theater, and art venues. Built on the site of American visionary and pioneer Carl Fisher’s Lincoln Road Hotel, the campus is housed in one modern facility. Just around the corner from the Miami Convention Center and a block away from the beach, NYFA South Beach is a dynamic, evolving space with professional-grade technology, software, and tools.
The NYFA South Beach campus is located in one multi-purpose facility with areas for filming and shooting, as well as editing labs. The campus also houses NYFA’s administration and faculty offices. Students can easily access on-campus resources, meet and collaborate with their peers, and attend exclusive events on our energetic campus.
NYFA’s equipment room has a large inventory of the latest tools and technology from a wide range of industry-standard brands. Students have access to equipment that both match their level of in-class learning while helping them master the fundamental tools and essential technical skills for the successful completion of their projects and program. As students progress through their respective disciplines, they become eligible to borrow more advanced equipment, rounding out their experience and preparing them to meet their creative goals.
South Beach is a haven for independent filmmakers and visual artists, with a close-knit community of creators always willing to lend a hand. When they are in need of additional support, students can take advantage of many off-campus resources that Miami has to offer, such as production offices, supply houses, local talent, theaters, and labs, equipping students with everything they need to bring their stories to life. Students can also leverage NYFA’s film permit, allowing them to shoot throughout Miami Beach.
Miami is a versatile area with many different backdrops for filming and shooting. When seeking locations for their projects, NYFA students can choose from local parks such as Miami Beach Botanical Garden, beaches including South Pointe Park, the boardwalk and promenade, green spaces such as Everglades National Park, diverse urban spaces including the Miami River area of downtown, as well as suburban neighborhoods like Coral Springs.
