NYFA courses are designed to furnish students with the tools, knowledge, and the experience necessary to be competitive in the industry. NYFA additionally has a career services department that advises students on career choices, but the New York Film Academy does not place graduates in positions.

While there is no age restriction, a high school diploma or the equivalent is required for the Academy’s adult programs (and Bachelor’s Degree for MFA programs). NYFA also offers summer camps and weekend workshops for teens (14-17), and kids (10-13 years old).
