Upon completion of your New York Film Academy program or workshop, you will need to request an official transcript to be sent to your school of choice. To obtain a transcript, contact the NYFA Registrar’s Office on your campus. Please note that every school awards transfer credit in its own way. Some credits may go toward electives, others toward your major, and some credits may not be accepted. It is recommended that you contact the transfer credit coordinator at your university of choice if you have any questions about transfer credit.

Anyone applying for other NYFA visual arts programs one-year or longer must submit a portfolio for review. Any prospective student that is applying or that has applied for a musical theater or acting for film program one-year or longer must audition. Auditions can be done in-person or submitted digitally. NYFA offers rolling admission throughout the year for our various program start dates. For Degree and Long Term programs, In order to secure a space in the program and allow time for processing, funding, travel, housing; and for intenrational students, securing a student visa, applicants should apply at least 90 days prior to a start date, or as as early as possible. However, NYFA will accept completed application materials (including personal statements, creative portfolios, transcripts, letters of recommendation, and other supplemental materials) until 14 days before the start of the program. NYFA cannot guarantee that applications completed less than 14 days before a program’s start will be reviewed. Applicants should confirm submission dates with their admissions representative. Please note, full tuition payment is due 30 days prior to the program start date, so applicatons received less than 30 days prior to the programs will be assessed a late fee.
