The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced the nominees for the 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
While the HPFA would typically stream the statements and reactions from filmmakers and stars who have been nominated, the organization’s scandals surrounding lack of diversity and unethical practices drove NBC to cancel the telecast for 2022.
Due to the controversy surrounding the HFPA for not having any Black members within its organization, the group’s president Helen Hoehne revealed that the 2022 ceremony will be focused on their philanthropic efforts, with Snoop Dogg having read the group’s selections for the best in television and film during a live stream.
New York Film Academy (NYFA) celebrates the NYFA alumni Issa Rae, Raquel Bordin, Francesco Panzieri, and Ilda Mason, who were featured in films and television series nominated this year. Similarly, NYFA Guest Speakers Elizabeth Olsen, Steven Spielberg, and Beanie Feldstein were also nominated for their feature films and shows.
The awards ceremony will take place on January 9th, 2022.
