From July 8-17, 2024, the New York Film Academy (NYFA) welcomed graduate students and faculty from the Beijing Film Academy to its Los Angeles campus for an immersive co-production workshop. This initiative underscores NYFA’s commitment to fostering global educational exchange and providing hands-on film training.
The workshop covered key areas of filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and post-production, culminating in the production of a short film. This successful partnership, which originated in 2015 and resumed this year, highlights the creative synergy between American and Chinese filmmakers. The workshop and partnership reinforce NYFA’s dedication to advancing the art of visual storytelling through cross-cultural collaboration in film education.
