NYFA LA INSTRUCTOR JOE BURKE STARS IN UPCOMING FILM “DEPENDENT’S DAY”

October 14, 2016

The upcoming film “Dependent’s Day,” which will be released on VOD on October 18, 2016, stars New York Film Academy Los Angeles Directing instructor Joe Burke. Burke has appeared in national commercials and on the critically acclaimed Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” as well as the popular Disney show, “Dog With A Blog.”

“Dependent’s Day” is a romantic dramedy directed by Michael David Lynch that begins when Cam (played by Burke) is claimed as a “dependent” by his successful, bread-winning girlfriend, Alice. Cam struggles to prove himself as he stumbles through different jobs and life’s obstacles in the hopes to live out his Hollywood dream and finally rise to the occasion.

“[Cam] is our hero character that we follow through the film (as flawed at times as he may seem),” says actor and NYFA instructor, Joe Burke. “But he’s a dreamer, and a guy going after his dreams in Hollywood. Something I can certainly relate to … we all can.”

Burke plays opposite Benita Robledo, who has appeared in numerous film and TV shows including “Gossip Girl” and “Teen Wolf.”

“Working with Benita Robledo was great,” said Burke. “We hit it off early on at the table read and found a great rhythm for these two characters. I think the key to developing a great chemistry with your co-stars is to really allow yourself to dive deep into the world of the character. To really feel like you’re in the characters shoes and to be grounded in all your decisions.”

Ultimately, Lynch’s film is a hilarious, heartfelt, authentic relationship comedy about the adventures of being in love and making it work.

The film can be seen on VOD beginning this October 18. For more information visit the film’s official site at dependentsday.com.
