NYFA alumnus Carter Smith’s short film Bugcrush won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Short at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006. Shortly after, Smith directed “The Ruins” for Dreamworks, followed by “Jamie Marks is Dead,” which premiered in the US Dramatic Competition at Sundance 2014. In addition to his film work, Smith works as a photographer for celebrity editorial, fashion, and advertising.
