Vincent D’Onofrio is an actor who came to the forefront after his role as a mentally unbalanced recruit in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket. He had a major role in Dying Young, and appeared prominently in the box-office smash Men in Black as the bad guy (Edgar “The Bug”).

Other notable films featuring D’Onofrio include: Mystic Pizza, JFK, The Player, Ed Wood, The Cell, The Break-Up, and Jurassic World.

D’Onofrio is also well known for his role as Det. Robert Goren, the lead character in the TV series Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Goren is based on Sherlock Holmes but, instead of relying upon physical evidence like Holmes, D’Onofrio’s character focuses on psychology to identify the perpetrators, whom he often draws into confessing or yielding condemning evidence. He played this character for ten years.
