Learn How To Write a Comic Book at NYFA
Since the earliest cave drawings, people have told stories through sequential art. Comic books are the latest incarnation of this art form — and are hugely popular in Japan (as manga), in Korea (as manhwa), in Europe, and in the Americas. Now more than ever, comic books and comic book writing hold a significant place in entertainment, film, and culture. The relationship between a panel in a comic book and a shot in a film is self-evident, and through transmedia, the two storytelling mediums are more and more interlocked.
In this 15-Week Online Writing For Comic Books Workshop, individuals with a passion for comic books and storytelling can learn the basics of comic book writing, both in plotting and writing a comic book script, as well the different types of script formats.
This course is offered during our Spring start.
Students meet once per week – on Tuesdays at 5pm Pacific Time/8 pm Eastern Time – for 3 hours in two 1.5-hour sessions with a 30-minute break.
