I would like to thank you for this experience, the first semester has offered me great teachers, classmates, and personal and professional growth. I’m very happy with the program.
I can’t begin to imagine what my life would be like if it hadn’t been for that extraordinary school. I’ve grown so much as an actress and a person and gained knowledge that I will carry with me for the rest of my days. Once again thank you to my dear friend, mentor and teacher David Vando; if it weren’t for you and the opportunity you gave me I may not be on this road chasing such a beautiful dream. Nicholas Viau 1-Year Acting New York City I am so thankful for the care you put into each and every student that walks into your classroom and for taking me under your wing at NYFA. Thank you for showing me what true passion is and expecting nothing less but the best from me!
Before the New York Film Academy I had only worked in theatre. As a student I learnt the intimacy that the camera has with an actor. It’s most certainly an adjustment. And I felt like I was really pushed by James Price who taught us Meisner. He really helped me understand the importance of being “raw” with your emotions as an actor. It feels vulnerable to be that exposed but he pushed us to do it.
I like how NYFA has behind the camera training. That’s very, very important. Audition technique, everything – this is one school that has everything. It’s complete. That’s what really drew me to NYFA, and we got to use the backlot and it’s pretty cool. That’s what really, really drew me here.
I am a very, very proud NYFA alum, and the most fulfilling thing about this nomination* was the ability to go back to school and share this amazing news with all my teachers and mentors. They are a big part of the reason why I have made it this far.
