New York Film Academy alum and Grand Jury Prize Sundance 2021 Winner Akinola Davies Jr. presents his award-winning film Lizard to his alma mater.
Lizard follows an eight-year-old girl, Juwon, who has the ability to sense danger. After getting ejected from a Sunday school service, Juwon witnesses the underbelly in and around a Mega Church in Lagos, Nigeria.
NYFA’s Chair of Short-term Programs, Jonathan Whittaker, hosted the online event and invited a panel of current students to discuss the film’s visual strategy and its key technical aspects. Read more about the film’s impact and Davies’ upcoming projects here.
