Summer Camps and Workshops at NYFA
At NYFA, we strive to make education in the visual arts accessible to the most diverse, international, and broadest spectrum of students. Our community of filmmakers, directors, actors, and visual artists are excited to introduce kids and teens to the arts. The summer camps and workshops are designed to help students build upon their natural talents and abilities and approach these crafts in a more refined, skilled way.
From their first day in our hands-on programs, students will work in an intensive environment to expose them to the realities of the visual and performing arts. As our programs are also highly collaborative, students may participate in group projects and their classmates’ projects. We strive to make our programs as enjoyable and fun as possible, and our programs aim to help students build skills and gain experience in a number of creative fields.
Students may submit an application for our summer camps, year-round workshops, and online programs any time during the year. No previous experience is required to apply.
How to Apply
Students may apply for NYFA’s workshops or summer camps for kids and teens throughout the year. Applications may be submitted online or via email with a $25 non-refundable application fee. To learn more, please visit our how to apply page.
Teen Housing
NYFA offers summer camp housing for students aged 14-17 at our various campuses and locations. Designed for teens who wish to experience the full overnight sleepaway experience, students who choose to stay with NYFA during their camps will have the opportunity to explore exciting locations known for film, television, and entertainment. To learn more, please visit our youth program housing page.
Supervision
While students are encouraged to get the most from their camp experience, students must follow the rules and regulations of our programs. During their time at NYFA, students are closely supervised by our faculty and staff and will adhere to a buddy system when off-campus. To learn more, visit our supervision page.
International Youth
International students are encouraged to apply for our US-based summer camps and workshops in visual and performing arts, as well as our programs at NYFA Florence and Paris. Our youth programs are recreational and not academic, and campers traveling to the US will travel as tourists. For more information, please visit our international youth page.
