Program Description
Program Name: 12-Weekend Acting for Film Camp for Kids
Hours: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (12 Consecutive Saturdays)
In NYFA’s weekend kids acting workshop, students learn how to act for film under the guidance of our faculty of active actors and directors. Through exercises, group activities, and games, students learn how to break down physical and internal inhibitions to find the most effective personal sources for the creation of truthful characters. Students learn new acting skills through blocking, partner, moment to moment, and given circumstances work, building their audition and memorization skills. Students may also learn the self-marketing aspects of the business.
For their main projects, students perform an assigned monologue, as well as an assigned scene, which are recorded and edited by our faculty and in-house production and post-production staff. At the end of the workshop, students receive a USB drive with a digital copy of their work. Additionally, students may invite family and friends to an end-of-program screening. During the workshop, students need to provide their own lunch.
