Learn How to Shoot a Film Scene at NYFA

In this short filmmaking class for teens, students explore their passion for filmmaking and learn how to shoot a film scene. Through collaborative work, aspiring filmmakers gain introductory knowledge in directing, writing, lighting, framing, shooting, and producing a film. This is a seasonal workshop held during the winter break of the academic school year.

Program Details

Camp Name: 2-Day Holiday Filmmaking Camp for Teens

Hours: 7 Hours per day 10:00 AM – 5:00PM EST and PST with a one hour lunch break. 

During NYFA’s 2-Day Holiday Filmmaking Camp, students explore camera, lighting, sound, and post-production by working collaboratively on exercises in high definition digital video. Students use the skills taught in class to create short, filmed scenes that will be celebrated at a screening on the conclusion of the second day. Students also rotate through crew positions such as director, cinematographer, assistant cameraperson and actor.

This 2-Day filmmaking class is a fun and fast-paced experience, excellent for students who want a hands-on introduction to the basic principles of filmmaking.
