Build Audition and Acting Skills at NYFA
In NYFA’s two-week summer camp for acting, students aged 10-13 explore their enthusiasm for performance, working with our faculty of active actors and directors to learn new acting for film skills. Through exercises, games, and group work, students gain a better understanding of the acting craft, completing a filmed monologue and scene. No experience is required to attend.
Program Description
Camp Name: 2-Week Acting Camp for Kids I
During this dynamic summer camp, students learn fundamental film acting techniques including blocking, partner and moment to moment work, as well as given circumstances. As this camp is incredibly hands-on, students also spend time learning audition techniques and and enhancing their memorization skills.
As a final project, students complete a short scene. These performances are recorded by our faculty, and edited by our in-house editors. At the conclusion of the camp, students receive a USB drive from NYFA with a digital copy of their work, and may invite their family and friends to a screening of their work. During the program, students need to provide their own lunch.
