Learn How to Make a Movie as a Kid
During the level two film camp for kids, students who have already attended NYFA in a prerequisite camp may return to gain additional experience in filmmaking. Through actual on-set experience, students aged 10-13 quickly build upon their creative and technical skills while making their own unique film content.
Program Description
Camp Name: 2-Week Filmmaking Camp for Kids II
Prerequisite: 1 or 2-Week Filmmaking Camp I for Kids
The 2-Week Filmmaking II Camp offers students an opportunity to create a longer film project up to five minutes. Throughout the program, students learn by doing, fulfilling a number of on-set film crew roles. Students study theory, taking classes in digital cinematography, screenwriting, editing practice and aesthetics, as well as directing for cinema. Students also learn on set and costume design, locations, shot choices, and coverage.
At the end of the program, films are screened in a celebration open to friends and family. Students receive a USB drive from NYFA with a digital copy of their work. During the camp, students need to provide their own lunch.
