Program DescriptionCamp Name: 3-Week Musical Theatre Camp for Teens
The 3-Week Musical Theater Program is an immersive and dynamic training experience designed for students who are passionate about musical theater. Over the course of three weeks, students will refine their skills in acting, singing, and movement, gaining essential performance techniques to bring characters to life on stage. With professional instruction and hands-on practice, students will develop confidence, versatility, and artistry while working toward a fully staged graduation showcase.

Core Subjects
Students will engage in the following core subjects throughout the program:
- Acting – Using fundamentals from modern acting techniques, students will participate in fun yet rigorous exercises focused on the basics of talking and listening, script analysis, and the unique demands of theatrical storytelling.
- Ensemble – This class introduces students to the fundamentals of part singing, harmony, and key signatures. The group will work together on a choral selection from the musical theater repertoire, strengthening their ability to blend and harmonize with other vocalists.
- Improv – Students will develop their ability to think on their feet, trust their instincts, and embrace spontaneity. Through engaging exercises, they will build confidence and creativity—essential skills for any performer.
- Performance Lab – Each student will work closely with an accompanist and instructor on a solo song (or, if time allows, two songs). This lab provides a space to experiment with different performance techniques, helping students refine their vocal and interpretative skills.
- Stage Combat – Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of stage combat, learning how to safely execute fight choreography for theatrical productions. Through controlled movements and partnered exercises, they will master techniques that add realism to action scenes while ensuring safety.
- Voice Studio Lab – This class focuses on the physical mechanics of singing, emphasizing healthy vocal technique. Students will gain a deeper understanding of breath control, resonance, and vocal maintenance, equipping them with skills to sustain strong performances.
- Movement and Dance – Students of all levels will explore dance fundamentals while learning combos to their favorite Broadway songs! They will train in theater dance, jazz, tap, and more, which are essential styles for musical theater performers while focusing on dance technique and performance.
- Masterclass – A unique opportunity for students to learn directly from a renowned musical theater performer, who will share their industry experiences and offer valuable real-world insights.
Final Project
At the culmination of the program, students will showcase their growth in a fully staged graduation performance featuring solo songs and group song-and-dance numbers. This final production serves as a celebration of their hard work, allowing them to apply their training in a live performance setting before an audience.
