Learn Photography at NYFA
In NYFA’s photography camps and workshops, students learn the craft of digital photography through in-class instruction, faculty-supervised labs, and hands-on assignments. In these programs, students aged 14-17 work under the guidance of our faculty of industry professionals to discover new ways of looking at the same image. Throughout the camps and workshops, students learn a variety of technical and artistic approaches in digital photography, as well as critical skills in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. The course culminates with a collection of finished photographs across several genres of photography.
NYFA currently offers in-person, on-campus summer camps, as well as workshops during the academic year. We also offer online programs on a seasonal basis.
Photography Summer
Camps: Level I
During our digital photography camps, students learn to shoot high-quality images in the many genres of photography, including Fine Art, Photojournalism, and Commercial Photography.
All summer camp students are required to bring their own digital camera with manual exposure control. While some of our teen camps offer level-two programs, our photography camps are currently available as level-one programs only.
